The battery is functioning correctly, but due to normal aging of the battery, the battery life between charges is now significantly shorter than when the battery was new.

Battery description and HP part number

Battery (3 cell, 41 Whr)     L11119-855

 

You can find an online vendor in your region of the world that sells the battery at a good price.

 

There are videos that detail the battery replacement. It isn't that difficult.

 

It does require patience, organization and attention to detail.

 

Be aware that the screws holding the laptop together are tiny and easy to lose.

 

Put the screws in a cup or on a piece of tape.
