HP Pavilion Laptop 15-cs3xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just recently bought this laptop and performance-wise it has worked great! Very rarely I have used "heavy-duty" programs such as Solid Works or Davinci Resolve, however, the programs I use most are the Microsoft Office suite and Vivaldi. With that being the most I use out of the computer I am getting battery life averaging  2.5 hours before plugging the computer to the power. After researching for this specific model, the benchmark averaged at 6 hours and 17 minutes, and while I understand it was not going to give me this exact amount of time, I do not think that a 3-hour difference is accounted for in the use of programs. What would be the best way to proceed in order to check my computer?

Welcome to HP support community.

I have a few steps listed below that should help you resolve this concern:

Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.

Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.

Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager:
1) In the search box, type and open “Device Manager”.

2) Expand “Batteries”.

3) Right-click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there.

4) Click on “Uninstall”.

5) At the prompt put a check in the box to remove the current driver

6) Shutdown the computer.

7) Remove the battery for minute and then put it back in.

😎 When the computer comes back up it should automatically find the driver.

9) Go to Device Manager.

10) Expand Batteries.

11) Right-click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there.

12) Click "Search automatically for updated driver software"

Do the same thing with Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller.

Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.

Hi, I have searched through a lot of threads on the internet. There is not any solution for systems that has embedded battery. I have followed the steps mentioned above to un-install, reboot and re-install the ACPI compliant driver for the two devices in Device Manager but the problem remains. The battery lasts only around 2 to 3 hours. I only use the system for internet browsing and simple Office work, nothing heavy. Why is the battery life so short? Can anyone from HP help ? Thanks.

I am just looking at a new HP laptop. I am definitely going to buy it. I have an old HP laptop, but now I need a higher capacity for my work. I actually did not have any issues with my old assistant in the past, except it started to work a bit slowly. I am in Florida now, 407 area code, so just need to find a good offer in my area and proceed with the purchase. I hope I will be also glad about it.

Would this picture help? Or would it help to have from other angles?
