OMEN 16 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-ap0000 (BL6K2AV)

Bought Hp omen 16 ryzen 9 8940hx with rtx 5060 laptop 2 weeks back. I have noticed one thing that its battery doesn't even last 2 hrs of normal usage(youtube and vs code) on eco mode. Is there any solution?

That’s normal for gaming laptops. They’re designed to be used plugged in most of the time, so it’s better to keep it connected to power whenever possible. Regularly using it on battery will use up its limited charge cycles faster. If you want more battery life when you do run on battery, you can try optimizing Windows. I suggest using the Chris Titus Tech Windows Utility for this. There are many YouTube videos that show how to use it, so you can follow one of those if you’d like.  Furthermore, disabling startup apps, uninstall unused apps, etc will also help.

Gaming laptops are completely safe to remain connected to the power source once they reach 100% charge. HP laptops such as Victus Series and Omen Series gaming laptops come with a battery management system that bypasses the battery by supplying power to the laptop directly from the charger if it has already been fully charged.

It is recommended to keep the battery at 100% and plugged in for optimal battery health. Lithium-ion batteries have a limited number of charge cycles, so frequent discharging and recharging reduces their lifespan faster. Users who want to run the laptop on battery power can do so, but should not do it frequently and must avoid letting the charge drop below 20%. Some people also perform battery calibration, draining from 100% to 5%, then recharging to 100% and continuing use, once every two-three months to maintain accuracy.
