Hi, I am looking for facts regarding a battery problem that I am observing.

Two months ago, the charge level of my battery was not exceeding 55%. Ironically enough, this happened right after my warranty expired. Now, about 60 days later... this number is down to 33%.

I was told by HP that the battery is charged fully. I question how that is defined. Does this mean that it fully charged to the limited capacity of the battery?

Is this a measurement issue or an actual problem with the battery on my notebook? I ran the HP battery diagnostics, and they passed. I've included those results along with the system and battery specifications.

What happens if I do nothing different, i.e., in another 60 days, will the "% charge" report at 11%?

What can I do about this?

Here are the detailed results of the battery check, as of today:

Here are my system and battery specifications:

Are you saying that currently the battery will only charge up to 33%?

If that is the case then the battery does have issues and soon you will find that it shuts down after only being used for a few minutes.

That battery test is showing some inaccuracies.

It says your battery has a cycle count of 2.   A cycle count refers to a charge to discharge cycle, each time is a count.

That would seem unlikely, unless you almost always leave it plugged in.

I hope that is not the case as doing that is not optimal for battery service life.
