Hi @mooniverse,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I have a few steps listed below that should help you resolve this concern:

Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.

Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30 minutes.

Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager:

1) In the search box, type, and open “Device Manager”.

2) Expand “Batteries”.

3) Right-click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there.

4) Click on “Uninstall”.

5) At the prompt put a check in the box to remove the current driver

6) Shutdown the computer.

7) (Depending on the model you have) Remove the battery for a minute and then put it back in.

:smiling_face_with_sunglasses: When the computer comes back up it should automatically find the driver.

9) Go to Device Manager.

10) Expand Batteries.

11) Right-click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there.

12) Click "Search automatically for updated driver software"

Do the same thing with Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller.

Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.

If the issue persists, please run a battery test using the steps in this link and get back to me with the results

Keep me posted for further assistance.
Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!

Thank you i will try this method too. But i have also observed that full capacity charge of battery is downgrading really fast that from 100 to 93 to 86 which i consider is not normal its only 10 days . So will that be solved too or its batter fault that is the batter is not working properly ? If you have any idea in this regard

Hi @mooniverse,

As it is brand new and if the charge is draining faster within 1hr, then it's a concern.

but while using your laptop only on battery, like watching movies, videos, or heavy work, also might discharge the battery.

So, if the calibration shows normal, nothing to worry about.

Okay so i followed every step as you stated. Thank you so much for your guidance . And battery did show normal state but when i ran the battery check thing on hp support assistant it says calibrate. So for now i will let my laptop for charge for 4 hours. If even after that it says the same thing then i guess there is some issue with the battery . I am completely noob but i saw somewhere where it says update your bios so will that work ?
