My laptop is an HP Pavilion Notebook. The product number is W0P26AV. I've had it for around 3 to 4 years. Never had much problem with it, but recently I've noticed the laptop does not hold battery as long as it used to which, I figured, is to be expected. But then I started to notice the laptop was charging extremely slow and I have not seen it charge over 83% even if I shut it down and leave it on charge overnight. I ran a diagnostic test on my battery using HP's services. The test informed me that my battery is fine but needs calibration. It gave me instructions on how to do so. My issue is: step one of the instructions is to charge the battery to 99 or 100% charged before continuing to calibration. I am unsure if my laptop is capable of charging to 100% since I haven't seen it do that in at least several weeks. It may be able to, but I'm sure it will take more than a day with how slowly it is charging which is hard to wait out since I'm a student that is highly dependent on this laptop. What should I do? Can I recalibrate my battery without charging it to 100% first? Should I buy a new battery altogether?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the charging issue.
The calibration process requires discharging the battery. You may try discharging at 83% if the battery percentage is not going up to 100.
Have you tried all the steps mentioned here? If the issue still persists, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the battery replacement.
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
