HP Pavilion - 15-au111tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have been using my laptop much for the past few months. But this is until 1 week before, that my battery has stopped charging beyond 66%.
When plugged in, it reads 'charging' but remains as it is at 66%, forever.
I ran the test for the battery as mentioned in one of your answers but it seems that the battery is fine.

The laptop was bought only last year in October.

Hi!

I want to inform you that a battery has a life cycle of nearly 300 cycles, most of them. This means that you can charge and discharge your laptop  300 times after which the battery shows the signs of degradation like low capacity, unable to charge a complete 100%, a lower voltage which can make your laptop shut down instantly if the battery is incapable of delivering the need.

If you ran your laptop on the battery very often, it's probable that the battery has already degraded quite a bit irrespective of the age of the battery.

However, you can still run your laptop with the current battery. It's time to buy a new one.

Make sure you can keep your laptop plugged in whenever you can.

I hope this helped you.

Thank you for the response but in rare occasions only I had used my laptop on battery.
I use my adapter almost always.
And my battery takes it'snormal time to discharge from 66%.
Also, won't the test state otherwise if battery wasn't fine?

There is a feature in HP Support Assistant that you could use. It checks the battery for wear. You might wanna check it out.

I checked it too but it also says that the battery is working fine.
