HP Notebook 2000
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have recently upgraded from window 7 ultimate to windows 10 pro. After the windows 10 installation and activation. I noticed that My battery is not charging and just stays at 29 percent and the red light changes to white, which means batter is full. But it shows only 29 percent charged. Although battery is 3 to 4 years old. and I think the time has come to buy a new one. but before the upgrade it was working fine. So I am confused how to know if it is still working, it may be due to some other issue. Does it have to do with version of the BIOS. Pls guide. My current BIOS version is Insyde F.37 16-5-2013. SMBIOS version is 2.7. BIOS Mode is Legacy.

Pls guide.

Thank you for the information.

Below is the link for the latest BIOS available for your computer.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp66501-67000/sp66781.exe

The keyboard uses the Windows built in drivers so uninstall the keyboard driver from device manager and restart the computer to reinstall the driver.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

sir,

Thanks for your support, it was very helpful. BIOS got updated. But keyboard issue is still bothering me. You already know details of my computer, I tried what you suggested but still it install the standard PS/2 driver and only 12 functions work in the standard keyboard. it needs to be updated. I need a driver for this computer model ( the detail you already know.) I tried uninstalling and restarting method but it didn't workout. I am not finding drivers for this model as this model's been obsoleted by HP. So see if you can arrange keyboard driver for this model.

thanks and regards,

The keyboard uses the Windows built in drivers and there will no drivers from HP.

I recommend you install all the Windows updates including optional and check if it helps.

Here is how it is done.

  1. Select the Start (Windows) button from the bottom-left corner.
  2. Go to settings (gear icon).
  3. Select the Update and Security icon.
  4. Choose Windows Update tab in the sidebar (Circular arrows)
  5. Select Check for updates. If there is an available update, it will begin downloading automatically.

Cheers!
