Hi,

My laptop is an Omen 15-dh1081TX, after I replaced the battery, the charger stopped charging when I started the laptop, once the laptop is shut down, the charger LED turns amber until it's  fully charged and the LED turns white. This could only means that the charger is functioning correctly,

After searching through the posts, I did not find any solutions, I used the PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows and tested everything on the menu, the only failure was the charger, even though it is plugged in, it shows that the charger is not plugged in, and did not continue with the test.

I have removed the Battery & the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery from the device manager, and restarted the laptop, both of these appeared back on the device manger after I rebooted. Further more I have updated the laptop with the latest Windows updates.

I am now faced with a laptop that I could only use via battery power, and when the battery is low, I stopped using it and shut down the laptop to allow the charger to charge the battery up.

Problem # 2

When I tried to run the PC Hardware Diagnostics from the BIOS Startup Menu (version 7.6.2.0) it told me that my version needs updating, so I downloaded the latest version from the HP website (10.8.1.0) and executed the download, and allow the software to update the program, but when I restarted the laptop and executed the PC Hardware Diagnostics from the BIOS Startup Menu, the software got up to 80% and the reboots, from there on I cannot update the Hardware Diagnostics with a lower version number. 😞 That means I cannot run any tests with the Hardware Diagnostics from the BIOS Startup Menu. How can I restore the Hardware Diagnostics back to version 7.6.2.0? Basically I am stuck with NO way to run any diagnostics test via the BIOS Startup Menu. 😞

Would you guys point me in the right direction where to go from here? Much appreciated!
