OMEN 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-b0000 (2W6B3AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello! I recently bought a new Omen 16.1" laptop with an i7-11800H and a RTX 3060. Everything has been working great so far except for one thing: the battery percentage. For some reason, it never changes. When I first received the laptop, it was at around 35% charge. I used it for about 30 minutes and noticed that it stayed at 35%. Then a few minutes later, it died out of the blue because it was actually at 1%. Once I plugged the charger in, the percentage reset to 1% and I let it charge to 80%.

I then proceeded to use it for around another 30 minutes and noticed that it was still at 80%. When I plugged the charger in, the percentage did not change. It simply went up from 80% to 81% to 82%, etc. I also tried running powercfg /batteryreport in PowerShell and noticed that it was also unable to determine the actual capacity of the battery. It simply said that it was 99% from last night when I charged it to full.

Would anyone happen to know what is going on here and if there is a way to fix it? I am beginning to suspect that it might be a hardware issue, more than a Windows 11 issue and that there might be a loose connector in the laptop which is supposed to tell Windows how much battery is left.

Hello! Thank you so much for the detailed write-up. I believe the BIOS update did not fix it. However, once I calibrated the battery, everything appears to be working good now. The battery is actually decreasing as it is supposed to on Windows. Thank you so much for the help!
