After using a underpowered charger (which I didn't realise was an issue) for a while has my laptop lost the ability to carry a charge. It's constantly on 0% and can only turn on while plugged in. When running battery diagnostics it gives me this failure ID: MCTTPT-A9QC9U-MFPU3G-C0DV03.
I have tried a bunch of different stuff - including reinstalling the drivers, taking out the battery, and recovering an earlier version from before it happened.
Will getting a new battery solve it, or do I risk there being damage done to something else aswell (the motherboard)?

It is a battery error, it is damaged, you must change the battery.
