Battery replacement cost

Hey, 

I recently brought my laptop to a repair shop here in Germany in order to have the battery replaced. The owner told me that the service would cost 35 Euros along with the battery for 115 Euros (he claimed to have paid that much because it’s an orginal and not a replica part). I didn’t do any prior research but the cost surprised me so I googled how much a battery would cost and and the result were mostly anywhere between 30-80 Euros at at best. Did I get scammed?

I don't believe that you were scammed if the repair shop person is telling the truth about the battery being genuine HP, and here's why...

The only place that I know of where you can buy a genuine HP battery for your notebook is from the HP parts store.

Entering that part number, you can see that the base price for the battery is 107.78 euros, and there is probably a shipping cost involved.

Ordering a genuine HP battery from HP for any notebook is normally very expensive.
