Hello,
I have a 4 year old HP Pavilion 15-n205tx Notebook PC , the PC is working fine but the battery backup is poor. I had changed the battery once from a local store but it died down within few months. The battery checkup shows urgent need for replacement.
I am looking for a genuine replacement but not able to find it anywhere in the internet. I have contacted the local HP service center but they insisted that parts of this PC is no longer available. I need help with following queries:
1. Does HP still produce genuine battery replacement for this model?
2. If yes, where can I get it in India?
Thanks
Ronit Acharya

HP does not really ever make batteries directly. It licenses its logo to battery makers who build them under HP specs. After about 18-24 months HP stops stocking batteries on the main website although through the Parts Store you can sometimes find them a bit longer. When they run out HP no longer stocks them and the market for genuine batteries shifts to 3rd party partners and vendors and then there are the 3rd party "knockoff" batteries which are sometimes made in the same shops that make genuine batteries but made under different standards and specs.
Your battery attaches externally and is customer replaceable. This is the part number:
(19) 4 cell, 41-Wh, 2.8-Ah, Li-ion battery728460-001
This is a genuine HP battery on amazon's India site:
There are also much less expensive 3rd party batteries and generally those are OK to use with an older laptop but your preference is for the genuine, I understand.
Post back with any other questions and please accept as solution if its the info you needed.
