update 15th May 2024
see whole thread , but turning the connector around it worked 😁
hp spectre x360 convertible 15-df0xxx
Tried two compatible batteries but the laptop won’t recognise any of them unless I have to do something else with the new compatible.
Original Battery was swollen and not allowed onboard the aircraft and removed before travel
Thank you 🙏🏻

Do you mean that it won't charge?
If the compatible batteries have a pf flag set in the battery management board inside the battery they will not charge.
That is even if they were delivered fully charged.

It would seem that they are either not compatible or not properly connected to the system board.
The connector has to fit fully into the header on a laptop's system board.

I’m nowhere near the laptop anymore, but a serious question, can the connector on a original HP battery be plugged in upside down.
I read on another forum that a fake hp battery was plugged in upside down and therefore the battery was never found. They turned it around and all us good now. I’m assuming the connector was not high quality

It would take a determined person to plug the connector upside down.
I know that some people do not understand the concept of "if it does seem to fit, don't force it to fit." They mistakenly think that brute force is the answer.
The connector is keyed to fit in one way, but can be forced.
