Two weeks ago I started to receive a message that I needed to replace my battery.  I ran a test on my battery and it said that a replacement was necessary.  So I ordered a new battery and I installed it.  But my laptop did not recognized the new battery I installed so I had to remove it and install my old "deffective" battery.  Something happened and I had to recover my Windows produc key  because the system detected a hardware change.  So my system was resetted and recovered.  Then SURPRISE  no more message to replace the battery.  I ran the HP test on my  old battery and it was GOOD !!!!!!!

This makes me wonder about the reason for the initial message to replace my battery. Is this planned obsolescence by HP to force me to buy a new device?
