product f9e43ea#abu

I need to replace the battery (I’ve not used the laptop in years but want to start using again mainly for the DVD part and for the nostalgia). However I’m unsure which battery to get for it to replace as it needs to be plugged in, in order to use. Please help

I've replaced lots of batteries on older HP laptops -- where they could be easily removed.

Somewhere on the battery, in really TINY print, it will have the HP model number, along with the voltage and wattage ratings. For example, my old DV6 battery is model MU06, 10.8volts, 55Wh.

You can use this information to look online for a replacement battery -- but be sure to get a good return and refund policy -- in case it does not work -- as many sellers refuse to take back electrical equipment of any kind.

Good Luck

Hi, @maya6256

You can find the battery part number and description you need in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual.

4 cell, 41-Wh, 2.8-Ah, Li-ion battery   HP part # 728460-001

HP does not sell a replacement battery for your notebook, so the only suggestion I can offer would be to do a search by the HP 728460-001 battery part number and find a compatible aftermarket battery on Amazon or eBay that references that part number,
