Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently purchased a new battery for my laptop. Once opened I realised the battery was different. Original is the SR03XL 11.55v the new one is SR04XL 15.4v. Can I still use it or not?

According to chapter 3, page 18 of the service manual, HP did offer a 4-cell battery for your notebook.

If the battery you bought references the HP part number listed there, it should work fine.

If there is no reference to the HP part number, you should do a search by the HP part numbers listed in the service manual and buy a compatible battery.

 

HP has the 4-cell battery on back order.

I really like this laptop i do not wish to destroy it. 11.55v to 15.4v is a major upgrade, just want to make sure.

Doing a search by the part number you posted, that's for a totally different line of HP consumer class gaming notebooks.

 

Amazon.com: HP SR04XL 15.4V 70.07Wh Notebook Battery For HP Pavilion Power 15-CB000 ,Gaming 15-CX000...

 

Doing a search by the part number I posted, it comes up with the same group of laptops.

 

Amazon.com: powerforlaptop Laptop/Notebook Replacement Battery Compatible with HP Pavilion 15-CB 15-...

 

So, unfortunately, I don't know what to tell you.

 

I always thought the voltages had to match.

 

In other words, the battery should be 11.55V.

The zBook platform had a few iterations, so can you say that a 15.4v battery is a bad idea for a replacement?
