Hi,
My battery was not working anymore the pc didn't boot anymore, when I inserted the battery and power adapter it didn't boot eighter.
But when i took out the battery and started the laptop powerd with the adapter it started.
I bought a new battery and when the battery is inserted i can boot only when power adapter is also connected to the laptop.
The battery gives a 69% power and won't load higher or lower when using the laptop.
In the bios the laptop is shown the old battery, even when upgrading to latest bios and using the battery tool from HP.
I removed the driver from device manager. The only thing I didn't do is reinstalling windows.
Is there something wrong with detecting the battery (something like a lock from hp, forcing you to buy a original HP battery) or is there somethng else wrong with this laptop.
Does anyone has a clue what could be the problem?

Hi @Nemesco,
I'd like to help with the battery issue!
Try the below suggestions-
Perform a hard reset
Performing a hard reset erases all of the information that is stored in your notebook's temporary memory. This forces Windows to do a complete scan of the system, including the battery.
To perform a hard reset, follow the steps below.
-
Unplug the AC adapter from the notebook PC and remove the PC from any port replicator or docking station.
-
Replacing the Battery from the notebook battery compartment.
-
Press and hold down the power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual electrical charge from the capacitors.
-
Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the notebook PC.
-
Press the power button to turn on the notebook PC.
-
Use the arrow keys to highlight Start Windows Normally and then press the enter key.
Use the HP Battery Check to test the battery — if the battery is still not detected, try Resetting the BIOS defaults.
Resetting the BIOS defaults
Resetting the defaults in the BIOS returns the BIOS to the factory settings that your notebook was shipped with.
To reset the BIOS defaults, follow the steps below.
-
Press the power button to turn on the notebook and repeatedly press f10 to enter the BIOS setup.
-
Navigate through the BIOS and select the option to restore the BIOS defaults. The option will be called Restore Defaults or Setup Defaults, or something similar.
-
Confirm that you want to restore the BIOS defaults, and then select the option to save and exit the BIOS setup.
Use HP Battery Check to test the battery — if the battery is still not detected, go to the Updating the BIOS section of this document.
Updating the BIOS
If resetting the BIOS default setting did not resolve the problem, look for and install the latest update for your computer's BIOS.
For instructions on updating the BIOS, please see HP Notebook PCs - Updating the BIOS.
Use HP Battery Check to test the battery—if the battery is still not detected, please follow the steps in the Using System Recovery to re-install the operating system section of this document.
Determine if the notebook starts using battery only
Disconnect the AC power from the notebook PC and then try to boot the notebook PC on battery-only power.
-
If the notebook PC boots on battery-only power, then re-install the operating system by performing a system recovery. For instructions on performing a system recovery, please see:
HP PCs - Performing a System Recovery (Windows 10)
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
