Hi @RaviGajjar,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your laptop's battery report indicates that your battery is weak, there are several steps you can take to improve its performance and extend its lifespan. Here's a comprehensive guide to help you:

1. Calibrate the Battery

Over time, your laptop's battery may lose accuracy in reporting its charge. Calibrating the battery can help:

  • Fully charge the battery to 100%.
  • Let the battery rest fully charged for at least two hours.
  • Unplug the laptop and use it normally until it shuts down due to a low battery.
  • Recharge the battery back to 100% without interruption.

2. Reduce Power Consumption

Adjust your laptop settings to reduce power usage:

  • Lower the screen brightness.
  • Turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when not in use.
  • Use battery saver mode available in your operating system settings.
  • Close unnecessary programs and background processes.

3. Update System and Drivers

Ensure your laptop’s operating system and drivers are up-to-date:

  • Windows Update (for Windows users) can provide important fixes and enhancements.
  • Visit your Hp website to download the latest drivers for your model.

4. Check for Background Applications

Some applications running in the background can drain your battery:

  • Use Task Manager (Windows) or Activity Monitor (Mac) to identify and close high energy-consuming apps.
  • Disable startup programs that you don't need.

5. Optimize Battery Settings

Adjust your system’s power settings for better battery life:

  • On Windows, go to Settings > System > Power & sleep.
  • On Mac, go to System Preferences > Energy Saver.

6. Keep the Battery Cool

Heat can degrade battery performance:

  • Avoid using your laptop on soft surfaces that can block ventilation.
  • Keep your laptop clean and ensure the vents are unobstructed.
  • Use a cooling pad if necessary.

7. Replace the Battery

If your battery is significantly degraded, it may be time for a replacement:

  • Check with your laptop’s manufacturer for a compatible replacement.
  • Consider purchasing from reputable vendors to avoid counterfeit products.

8. Battery Health Tools

Use battery health monitoring tools to keep track of your battery’s condition:

  • Windows: Use the command prompt to generate a battery report (powercfg /batteryreport).
  • Mac: Hold the Option key and click the battery icon in the menu bar to see battery condition

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
