Hi
My new HP Envy x360 suddenly stops charging after a couple of seconds each time I plug in the charger. I've uninstalled the battery drivers and rebooted. I can't remove the battery as it's hard to remove in these laptops.
Currys says I would have to wait 7 days while they fix it, which would mean I could do no work for 7 days - an impossiblity.
Any help gratefully received!

Hi@EMZ4, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand that you have an HP ENVY Notebook and the battery You've done a remarkable job performing the steps.
While you respond to that, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
NOTE: You may skip any steps that have been performed by you already.
- Power off the laptop.
- Remove the battery out. If the battery is integrated and does not have a latch to release it then leave the battery inside the laptop.
- Disconnected AC adapter from the laptop.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery and plug the AC adapter.
- Power ON the laptop.
Now let us uninstall the battery drivers and reinstall them. The following steps will help:
- Open the device manager.
- Expand "Batteries". Right click on the ACPI battery drivers and select uninstall. If there are multiple entries of the ACPI battery drivers then uninstall them all.
- Close the device manager.Restart the laptop.
- The Windows operating system will reinstall the battery drivers while restarting.
It is a good idea to download and run a BIOS update for your laptop via this link. The charger must be connected until the BIOS update is complete to avoid any power interruptions due to battery draining out.
Post a successful BIOS update, you may check if the battery charges fully. If not then please perform the steps as described in detail in this HP document. These steps help in testing and calibrating the battery.
NOTE: Please skip the steps mentioned in "Test and calibrate the battery using HP Support Assistant".
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Keep me posted.

Hi Praveen
Thanks for replying, this didn't work I'm afraid. My battery is sealed inside so I can't remove it and do any of the other types of checks that have been posted online.
My laptop is still under warranty as it's not yet 1 year old, so can I get it repaired or replaced?

Hi @EMZ4,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer or HP Chat Support Team.
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
Have a great day!

Hi Praveen
Thanks so much for helping.
My laptop is less than a year old as mentioned, so the warranty is still valid.
However, when I try to contact HP and put in the serial number etc., it says the warranty isn't valid. It says it's only the shop, Curry's, that can help me but that can't be right under consumer protection law?
I am in the UK London.
The warranty runs out really soon, so I'm worried. (April 12th)
