I am experiencing a serious issue with the battery of my HP 15 Laptop PC (Model: 15s-eq3xxx, Product Number: 74M10EA).
The battery is stuck at 3% and does not charge, even though the original HP charger is connected. The system shows “Plugged in, not charging”, and the LED on the charging port keeps blinking. If I unplug the charger, the battery immediately starts to drain.
I ran a battery diagnostic using HP’s tools, and the result says “Primary battery – Replace”. However, the battery has only gone through 124 charge cycles out of the expected 1000, and it still reports 96% of the original full charge capacity (40 Whr out of 41 Whr). The power adapter is working fine, and the laptop is otherwise functional.
Although the device is out of warranty, I believe this issue is due to a premature battery failure and not related to user misuse or wear and tear. This type of defect may qualify under the EU consumer protection laws regarding product conformity.
I am requesting assistance, or escalation to higher support, for potential repair or battery replacement at no cost.
The laptop runs Windows 11 Home 64-bit, installed on 4 March 2025.
Thank you in advance for your support. I look forward to your response.
Kind regards,
Amr ElSawaf
