HP ENVY 15-as003nl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I got this PC used. The other day I ran out of battery (after an anomal 10% in less than one minute). When I fully charged it again the percentage was stuck at 62%-63%.
I ran every HP test and the battery shows no problems. I even tried to manually calibrate it but didn't worked.

I attach 2 differents logs (one from Windows batteryreport and one from HP PC Hardware Diagrnostic.

@Djlencio Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the Battery stuck at 62%.

If the notebook is operating near the HP ambient operating specification of 35 degrees Celsius, the battery may be delayed in charging. More specifically, if the battery is discharged and the AC adapter is connected, the battery may not charge again until the internal temperature of the battery becomes lower.

Connect the Notebook to the AC Adapter

To resolve this issue, keep the notebook connected to the AC adapter and when the battery's internal temperature has dropped below 45 degrees Celsius, charging will resume normally.

It is normal for battery internal temperatures to rise during discharge. The battery's internal temperature does not increase when charging, therefore once cooled only external heat sources may interrupt charging.

Charging the battery

Attempting to charge the battery in conditions outside of the suggested operational temperature range on the product specifications is not recommended.

Please note the following charging conditions:

  • At 0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit), the battery does not charge.

  • From 1 degree Celsius (33.8 degrees Fahrenheit) to 10 degrees Celsius (50 degrees Fahrenheit), the battery charges very slowly. This is a natural limitation of battery cell technology.

  • At 45 degrees Celsius (115 degrees Fahrenheit), battery charging stops. Once the battery cools to a temperature below this threshold, charging resumes.

NOTE:

Battery cells do not accumulate heat during the charging process. As such, charging the battery does not cause the battery to exceed the temperature threshold. Battery cells only accumulate heat during the discharge process (using battery power and not AC power.)

To monitor the notebook battery, use HP Support Assistant. For more information or to download the latest version, visit the HP Support Assistant web page.

Reduce heat in your notebook, see Reducing Heat and Fan Noise by Cleaning Air Vents.

Please uninstall the ACPI drivers

Right-Click on start button> click device manager> Batteries>then select the s drivers and right-click on it and uninstall all battery drivers.

Then restart the computer and check again.

Also, update the BIOS.

Thanks for your reply.

In optimal condition the PC still charges up to 70% (the percentage has changed since a couple days ago).

A battery check with HP Support Assistant gives the result below (70% recognized as "Charged").

I uninstalled and reinstalled various times the drivers but nothing changed.

The BIOS is up to date.

I also ran a fully cycle of discharge and charge as suggested for manually calibrating the battery.

@Djlencio

I understand your concerns.

In that case, I would suggets you contact our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.

Have a nice day!!
