HP 15-ba009dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My current laptop is the HP 15-ba009dx, and I've been using it without incident all day. Suddenly, my laptop died and it was around 7%. I plugged my laptop back in and I noticed when I tried to turn it on, it would suddenly shut off. The battery light indicator would switch between orange and white. I removed my battery and used the plug, and it worked perfectly. However, when I placed my battery back in it would turn off despite me turning it on. I managed to run the battery component test and it stated, "failure ID" and replace (42). The failure ID is "6357P9-9KEAKP-XD7UQ1-C08F03". I never encountered this issue ever before this year, and suddenly it stopped working today.

Hi @Husky2,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Have a great day!
