HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec1050ax
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The battery level suddenly drops to 0 and the system shuts down, it can only be started when power is plugged in also sometimes the whole system lags when I remove the charger from the system even after changing the power setting to Best Performance, also facing an OS Crash just in case it has any connection.

Run a full diagnostic test on the battery. Probably the battery needs replacement. You should not keep letting it shut down hard as if that happens too many times it will damage the hard drive and eventually will not boot up even with AC power attached.

I performed a battery and hard drive diagnosis check and it says that it is working fine, but I still face the issue.

Hello,

do the following trick.

(1) Open the windows device manager and uninstall the battery and battery management system and shutdown your operating system.

(2) Remove battery, remove ac adapter, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

(Note: If you cannot remove battery because you have to open the notebook and don't want to do it, just start the notebook and go directly into the bios (F1/F2/F10) and let the notebook running (don't connect the AC adapter !) until it is switching off. In case you are doing this you can skip the procedure "press and hold the power button for 30 seconds")

(3) Install battery, plugin ac adapter and wait until the battery is fully charged (don't start the operating system !) and check the charging led.

(4) If you have no charging led, wait at least 2 hours ...

(5) Start your operating system, now the windows battery management system is synchronized with your installed battery. Normally it should show 98-100% battery level.

(6) If your battery level is too low and you are loosing your battery capacity too fast, your battery has to be replaced...

best regards

The simple pass-fail test does not tell the whole story. Post the full diagnostic test of the battery. It tells us how old the battery is, how many cycles, how much power it can hold now and other things that allow a full diagnosis. The difference between the "idiot light" on your dashboard and a full computer engine analysis.

When you get to Results in HP Support Assistant test, click the show advanced information link. If you can, post a screenshot of the advanced info.

It's got some miles on it and has lost about 20% of its ability to hold a charge but nothing badly wrong with it. You would get a better experience from a new battery, however.

Thanks, I noticed that the battery is draining comparatively faster, and luckily haven't faced any OS crashes or abrupt power-off since the last 2 days, can you suggest to me some ways to preserve Battery life.
