Hi all,
I have a HP Pavilion 14-al062nr and i am facing issue that my battery won't exceed charging above a certain percentage. At the begining it was not exceeding 36% then it is at 43% and won't increase the percentage regardless of how long i keep the charger plugged in. I have win 10 64 bit pro and it shows 43% available (plugged in, charging).
Upon running the hp support assistant's battery check it says that i need to calibrate the battery but it is not giving any option to do so and instead provide me with manual instruction but the main problem is that the instruction says that i have to charge the battery up to 100% in order to calibrate but as i stated above, i am unable to charge it above 43%.
I have already tried following things:
- Tried unstalling "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" driver and restarting the laptop . no improvements.
- tried running the hp pc hardware diagnostics UEFI but it instead shows that Battery status: OK. i think that it is not checking the battery correctly because the desktop program when tried to run the battery check, stucks at 10% for a moment and then abruptly shows that test CANCELLED without showing any results.
Any help will be geatly appreciated. Thanks.

Your battery has 4 cells.
If you look at your tests one cell is dead.

Not sure if this will help but what BIOS version do you have???
Version: F.42 Rev.A
Fixed in this release: - Fixes an issue where the battery information is reported incorrectly.- Provides improved battery health when the system is connected to an AC adapter.
Version: F.45 Rev.A
Fixed in this release: - Fixes an intermittent issue where the system battery does not recharge completely.- Provides the updated Intel CPU microcode to improve system stability and security.
The latest version is F.48 Rev.A

I only tell someone to update their BIOS if one of the Fixes listed could help them with there problem!!!
It looks like there could be 2 fixes for your problem.
I am getting an error on the one link now.
