I've owned my HP Pavilion for just under 2 years, and within the past several months, I noticed that the battery wasn't charging past a sliver of a percentage, no matter how long it was plugged in. It always stops at 15% on the dot, and will not budge any higher. I've tried uninstalling the driver, restarting and reinstalling, as well as testing different outlets and verifying that my charger is in working condition. The battery didn't show any signs of deterioration before it stopped charging. I have, however, always had issues with having to restart my computer in order to get the battery life to display on the task bar. The battery is not removable, which is why I haven't replaced it thus far. Pleeease help, as I am a college student that just got back on campus, and I REALLY need this to work for more than 10 minutes.

The first thing to do is run a test on the battery. You can do this from the HP Support Assistant app in Windows or in the UEFI diagnostics or in the HP Hardware Diagnostics app. All spelled out here:

When you have run the battery test you can post the advanced results here so we can analyze. Likely we will discover the battery has run its course and needs replacement.
The battery is removeable just not really easily removeable.

HP Parts Store does not have it so eBay:
