Hi, when the battery is installed on my laptop, I can hear a buzzing noise coming from inside the laptop.  When plugging the AC adapter in, the buzzing goes away, but the battery will not charge.  Any suggestions?

You need to run a diagnostic check on the battery and AC adapter.

Several options for testing:

Hello, I ran HP hardware diagnostics and got the following failure ID for the battery: RH5NMQ-9PCA2W-MFGH7G-C0EX13

I should add that the battery was replaced only about 2 years ago

This means the battery needs replacement. Do you want help finding a battery and with how to install it?

The battery failing is also causing the buzzing inside the laptop?  Just want to make sure before I purchase a new battery.

You need a new battery whether or not its causing the buzzing. It may not be the cause but I would say it very likely is. Would the buzzing cause you to discard the laptop?

No, before I purchase a battery I just wanted to make sure it was likely the battery causing the issue and not another more expensive component inside the laptop.  I will order a new battery and see if that works.  I appreciate your help, thank you.
