The battery on my Pavillion Laptop is not charging even though I have power, now the computer is warning that the battery is low (11%). Will the computer stop working even though I have electric power?

Hi @Kepa1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Power Adapter:
- Ensure the power adapter is correctly connected and functional. Inspect the adapter and power cord for any physical damage.
Examine Power Port:
- Inspect the laptop’s power port for dust or debris that might be preventing connection. Clean it gently if necessary.
Test With Another Adapter:
- If available, try using another compatible power adapter to verify whether the adapter is the issue.
Battery Health Check:
- Run the HP Battery Check using HP Support Assistant to assess the battery's health and determine if replacement is necessary.
Disconnect and Reconnect Battery:
- For models where you can remove the battery, disconnect, and then reconnect it after a few moments to ensure proper contact.
Update Drivers:
- Ensure that all power management drivers and settings are up to date via Device Manager or HP Support Assistant.
Consider BIOS Update:
- Sometimes a BIOS update can resolve battery calibration and charging issues. Check for any available updates on the HP support site specific to your model.
Power Reset:
- Perform a power reset by turning off the computer, disconnecting the power adapter, and pressing the power button for about 15 seconds. Then, reconnect the adapter and try charging again.
Battery Replacement:
- If none of the above steps resolve the issue, consider the possibility that the battery may be defective or at the end of its life and may need replacement.
I hope this helps.
