Can you calibrate the battery through the HP Support Assistant app?

HP Recommended

Yes i believe i can. It was later that i learned that it needs to be calibrated first so i initiate the process using the hp diagnostic uefi tool. They gave me an 11hr overall calibration process. I should be done in few hours. Do you think that will fix the problem?

HP Recommended

It has a good chance of doing so. Post back please either way so we know it worked or can try to provide further help.

I did the calibration by following the exactly the way they said. What i noticed is that the laptop dies before the timer of the batter draining process finishes, usually 1 hour 10 minutes early and it won't turn on again. I did the calibration cycle twice and at first the charging begins to stop at 70% and in the second at 68% and the charging light remains amber no matter how long i leave it charging. At this point i am beginning to think the battery has issues. But what would you recommend?

HP Recommended

I agree with your diagnosis. If the battery refuses to calibrate its likely defective. Run a diagnostic test on it and post the advanced results, please.

HP Recommended

I did that already before i tried the second calibration step and the results says it needs to be replaced. Likely the battery is a counterfeit. Check the attachment below.
