Common problems for Battery
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about: Battery Reports, Hold a charge, Test and Calibrating Battery . Check out this link: Is your notebook plugged in and not charging?

Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

My HP OmniBook 3 16-by0020ns (16" 2K, AMD Ryzen 7, 24 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, Radeon 680M, 41 Wh battery) loses between 18% and 20% of its charge in 24 hours when completely powered off (about 0.2-0.3 W). It has only 14 days of use.

Test conditions: Shift + Shut down (Fast Startup disabled), charger and all peripherals disconnected, and all wake-up, lid-open and USB charging options disabled in the BIOS.

Measurements:
- 100% to 84% in 19 hours.
- About 11% in 20 hours.
- About 10% in 17 hours.
- After recalibrating the battery (full discharge and recharge), with the lid closed: 32,636 mWh (80%) to 30,498 mWh (74%) in about 10 hours. The drain rate did not improve after the calibration.
- The Windows battery report shows the same pattern. For example, a Shutdown session on 2026-10-01 went from 32,636 to 28,541 mWh, with the full charge capacity unchanged at 41,040 mWh.

What I have already checked:
- powercfg /batteryreport shows the laptop as Suspended with no wake-ups in between, and powercfg /waketimers shows no timers.
- HP PC Hardware Diagnostics battery test: status OK, 100% capacity (41.04 Wh) and 7 cycles.
- Hard reset (after which the BIOS showed a one-time "CMOS checksum invalid / CMOS Reset (502)" message), Windows updated, and a full discharge and recharge (manual calibration).
- The BIOS is on the latest version available: F.04 (04/22/2026).

Other owners of the same hardware (HP OmniBook 3 16-by0027ns, Ryzen 7 7735U) report the same problem in retailer reviews, even with all BIOS options disabled.

My questions:
1. Is this a known issue on the OmniBook 3 16-by0xxx series?
2. Is there a BIOS or embedded controller firmware update, or an official procedure, that fixes it?
3. If not, I would like to request warranty service (a replacement unit).

Thank you.
