Product: HP Spectre x360 Convertible Laptop PC 14-ea1000 (446B8AV)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11
I have a new Spectre HP and expediently purchased docking station for an existing HDMI monitor. The DS briefly blacks-out when booting and is not reliably recognizing the monitor. The DS uses a mini USB_a port for power_in.
What is a better option?

Your USB-C port is Thunderbolt so you can use the newest type docks. Not sure how old that dock is but if it is using usb A power it must have some age on it. What all ports do you need? Likely a simple Thunderbolt/USB-C travel type dock would work.
