Hello, HP Community!
I recently purchased an HP Pavilion laptop, and I'm curious about the best ways to maximize battery health over time. Should I keep the battery charged at 100%, or is it better to unplug it once fully charged? Also, how often should I perform a full discharge cycle?
Looking forward to your insights and tips. 😊

If you frequently let it run down between charges you will register a cycle and battery life partially depends on registered cycles. By the same token, keeping a battery always plugged in increases the chance of swelling. A good compromise is to run it on battery down to about 20% (not below that) and then charge it back up maybe once every 14 days or so. In general, modern batteries are pretty resilient and do not need a lot of monitoring. Just use the laptop and enjoy.
