Hi,
I have a HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec0001ca and specifications:
- Processor AMD Ryzen 5 3550H with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx, 2100 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
- Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 8.00 GB (one slot)
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050
My laptop always consuming top of memory and I discovery that there is 2.1 GB de RAM for hardware reserved. I looked answer in the internet and in the AMD forum I found things how "change the value in your BIOS", because this value is used for integrated video memory (Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx).
I accessed the BIOS, but I did not the advanced option for change the value.
"Yesterday I opened a issue in HP support and the answer for this excessive consuming is add more RAM in your computer." but, I have a dedicated video memory, this case I think that not necessary spent 2GB of memory with another video memory.
My questions:
1. How can I change the value without access the BIOS advanced options ? It's possible?
2. If not possible change the value and I add more 8 GB, can this memory value dedicated double?
Thank you so much.

This is a known problem with AMD processor. Please check the following article: to fix:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06526774
And from Microsoft PlayReady.

@Banhien ,
Thank you for your answer, but the solution propose in this link (description bellow) its very incomplete. I don't know how should I proceed.
This is by design. AMD reserves some memory capacity in order to support the Microsoft PlayReady feature.
NOTE: The available amount of memory will vary depending the amount of physical memory installed in the computer.
Can I uninstall this Microsoft feature?
Aren't there another solution, like new firmware or update the BIOS in developing?
If I add RAM memory the losing amount will be higher. Today I lose 27% of memory, if I add more 8 GB the lose will be 4.2 GB and I will have 11.8 GB available.
I'm a fun and I use HP for over 10 years, but this situation left me really disappointed with the brand.

HP Community,
I need help about this problem. It's simple, the HP create a BIOS firmware for available the advanced option, I think thousands of customers were satisfied with solution.
I saw a lot of others posts with this same problem in others laptops after 2019/01/01 and all customers are ignored. I hope for a HP solution.
