[serial number removed]
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

[serial number removed] Is my laptop the old compaq business edition. What i want to do is, that i want to upgrade the harddrive since the components are good enough, but i would give this laptop 2, 3 years of good performence. The problem is BIOS setup i Can acess diagnostics and info but not the setup part. I dont know my admin password i want to delete it or just upgrade bios since Bios admin key is uniceserely. Ok here is what i tried and didint work out:

CMOS battery out, cant find a link to put a defoult and standart Bios, I tried all the ways and options in startup settings, but cant find my way around it, I tried to find the jumper couldint find it and kind of want to have really clear totorial for this. since it can destroy motherbourd or Bios itself. I mean i bought it in the box from the office user cheaply but i love doing repairs. Any ideas of how replace Hard disk without Bios or how fix the main issue since i have bought adapter and SSD and it would be sad to not be able to fix it. IF a HP worker reads this You should try to make Bios same like old laptops or dekstops for simple use. because if im the owner i should have right to adjust my laptop without you firewalls. [edit] Owner can fix or manage the item unto owners wish unless its becomes illegal substance or object.

Hi:

On most of those HP mini notebooks, you enter the serial number in the box at the link below and it will generate an unlock passcode...

https://bios-pw.org/

When I enter the serial number you posted, I get this unlock passcode...

e9lofxq268

You can clear all passwords by going into the security menu>enable/disable password>enter the above unlock code to get access to the menu.

In the new password box, press the enter key, and press the enter key again in the confirm password box.

Save settings and exit.

Now your PC should be clear of any BIOS P/W.

You're very welcome.

OK, I saw from your video that you have a HP 6530b business notebook, which you cannot clear the BIOS P/W with a code.

The serial number you posted yesterday, which was removed by one of the moderators, gave the description of a Mini 110 notebook.

So, I posted the code to unlock one of those notebooks based on the serial number.

For that model you will need to contact HP in your country and they should be able to send you a customized SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.

Contact Support >> http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

When talking to the HP rep ask them to escalate your service request.

Note:

Do not try removing the RTC/BIOS battery.  It will not remove the password, but it will reset the clock - as SMC files are time coded, a large disparity between the system clock and the time encoded in the SMC will cause it to fail.

So, hopefully, you can reset the time and date.   You may be able to do that in Windows.
