Bios Update HP Pavilion dv9700 [Intel]

Hi,

Before installing Lubuntu, I would like to update the BIOS of on an old Pavilion dv9700 laptop. Unfortunately, the support page for this model doesn't exist anymore. Could you help me to download the good file ?

Notebook Model :    HP Pavilion dv9700 (GP235AV)

System Board ID :    30CB

Processor Type :      Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 @ 2500 MHz

BIOS Version :           F.5A

Hi,

i have the same issue. I need to urgently update the BIOS as the pc is getting far too hot, is not recognizing the cdrom etc.

However, there is no way to install a Windows at all as the cdrom is blocked and the USB starting is blocked as well. Linux is installed and running. (MX 23)

Is there any option to get the BIOS updated? The linux page to extract teh data from the win file didn't help as there was no file like needed.

Unfortunately, there is no way that I know of to run the BIOS update file without using Windows.

To update the Bios, i first installed windows Vista with an old CD-rom.

It worked fine.
