Hello 

I just want to ask a question

I know you have been asked this quastion many times 

(I can not find my device in your list for Bios update for "Spectre" and "Meltdown"

I have the same question except thats my laptop hase Biso version F.41 

I did updated year ago I can not remmeber how I could get that update because when I search in product drivers all I could find is F.39 Biso update 

 

Is my device will recieve update for Bios ? even its 4 years old

my windows is up to date so I just wait for your bios update

I have escalated your concern to HP's Support Team in your region to have it reviewed for available options (if any). 

 

You should be contacted within 4 business days (Excluding Holidays & Weekends). 

 

Response times may vary by region. 

 

Please send a Private Message, if you aren't contacted within 4-5 business days.  

 

Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (such as serial numbers and case details).

 

And Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,

If your notebook is not listed in the bios update, then that means that your notebook is not affected by the same. 🙂

correct me if I am wrong

First : as I read after I wrote this question all Intel CPU thats made in the last decade was affected by Spectre problem 

beside until now there is no official way to conferm if cpu has problem 

I did try Power shell script and inspctre program 

even by intel her https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000025619/software.html

Intel® Management Engine Critical Firmware Update

1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th generation Intel® Core™ Processor Families is affected 

So my Cpu should receive firmware update from motherboard manufacture ( which is HP ) 

until now you can not find good official way to confirm to all users if their cpu is affected or not

 

Also you did not answer my second question how I could have F.41 Bios update while in your offical drivers page the last update now is F.39 and I did  receive the update in 04/2017 through HP Supoport Assistant

Hello

 

thank you for replay 

 

as continious of my my previos replay I was little misunderstanding

the link I provided to intel concern (Intel-SA-00086) vulnerability

 

while (Intel-SA-00088) concern about spectre  vulnerability

 

any way thats not the point

 

Also I did correct my region\country in my profile as I did entre wrong during registeration

my laptop is out of warrenty So I do not know will this affecting the support 

 

I am sure my region/country is not support by HP phone support so just my concern simple :

 

1-my BIOS has F.41 version and on driver page the last is F.39 I recive update through Hp Support Assistanse ..why it is not there in driver page ?

 

2-When HP15 -r100~199 will recive update for spectre  vulnerability ? as I found HP15-r001~099 included in schedule ?

( my laptop HP15  r-141nx)?
