Hello HP Support,
Yesterday when I booted up my computer I got a notification from HP that said "Low power source detected" from HP and my cpu fan wasn't turning, so I ran all diagnostics needed and it obviously failed on the fan speed test, changed outlets around the house but nothing changed, and so I opened it up and checked every if the 4 con pin wasn't in but I found that the cpu fan wasn't trying to turn but would stop immediatly which makes it more convincing that it is not getting enough power, now I've looked around on the internet and some people having the same issues have fixed this by updating their bios,
I have a Victus 16.1-e0xx, BIOS version=F.15, Motherboard= 88EC,
how do I know if I'm eligible to update it past F.15, I wouldn't want to lock away my laptop forever and run into more problems.
I thank you all in advance, would really love some instructions.

Hi @SpicyJoe,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you are experiencing issues with your CPU fan starting and immediately stopping (twitching), there may be a few possible causes. One of the common causes could be related to a BIOS update.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue.
- Check if your BIOS is up-to-date: Visit your computer manufacturer's website and check if there are any BIOS updates available for your model. If there are, download and install the latest update and restart your computer.
- Check your CPU fan settings: In some cases, the fan may be set to stop spinning when the temperature is low. You can check the fan settings in the BIOS or through fan control software.
- Check for loose connections: Make sure the fan is properly connected to the motherboard. Unplug and replug the fan to ensure it is properly seated.
- Check for dust buildup: Over time, dust and debris can accumulate in your computer and cause the fan to stop working. Use compressed air to clean out the fan and any other components in your computer.
It's important to note that tampering with BIOS settings can be risky, so proceed with caution and make sure to backup your data before making any changes.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
