HP Envy 15-k204na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just did a search for updates with HP Support Assistant today 30th May 2017, and it did not report on any updates available. However, I went on to the HP Support website, and searched for software and drivers for the HP Envy 15-k204na, and it showed a bios update - BIOS F.53 REV.A, dated 15th May 2027, and an HP strong recommendation to update the BIOS to this version. My current BIOS version is F.43 REV.A, dated 29th July 2016.

So why oh why does HP Support Assistant not show and offer this update, when you search for updates ????

Always reluctant to install a BIOS update manually from the HP Support website.

Can anyone suggest how to get HPSA to show and offer this BIOS update to my notebook???

A lot of knowledgeable people actually take the position you are better off upgrading the BIOS by direct download of just the BIOS from the driver page and not from HPSA because a BIOS update should not be packaged with other driver updates as the HPSA tends to do. Not unusual for an update issued on 5-15 not to be on HPSA by 5-30...either do the direct download and update the BIOS or wait possibly another 7-10 days and HPSA should have it.

After fully checking and verifying the latest BIOS Update, I downloaded sp80106.exe and successfully updated my BIOS Version to F.53 REV.A

All good now. Thanks to Huffer for his advice.
