Hi @Smokeyblue57

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Good question 👍 — this is a common issue on laptops, especially near the hinge where pressure and torque slowly weaken the adhesive.

Since the black frame (bezel) has lifted but the display itself is intact, you’ll want an adhesive that is:

Non-conductive (safe near electronics)

Flexible (so it won’t crack when the hinge moves)

Thin (so it doesn’t push against the screen panel)

Removable if needed (in case you need service later)

Recommended Adhesive Options:

Double-sided adhesive tape (best option)

Use 3M 9448A, 3M 300LSE, or Tesa 61395 — these are thin, strong tapes used in electronics.

Won’t ooze like glue, and can be safely removed with heat if needed.

Cut into thin strips and apply along the inside edge of the bezel where it originally stuck.

Electronics-safe liquid adhesive (if tape isn’t enough)

B-7000 or T-7000 glue → widely used in phone/laptop repairs.

Flexible, clear/black options, and won’t damage plastics.

Apply a very thin bead only on the frame edge (avoid excess near LCD).

Allow 24 hrs curing with gentle clamping.

Avoid:

Superglue / cyanoacrylate → becomes brittle, can fog the screen with fumes, and may damage plastics.

Hot glue → too bulky, softens with heat.

Epoxy → permanent and can crack screen under hinge stress.

Application Tips:

Clean both surfaces with isopropyl alcohol (70–90%) to remove dust/oil.

Use painter’s tape or clamps to hold the bezel flat while adhesive/tape cures.

Do not press directly on the LCD panel — support edges only.
