OMEN Laptop - 15-ek0015tx

Hi!

I recently noticed a screen wide black thick line appearing on my screen which seems flickering.

But, when I switch from 60 Hz to 30 Hz, the dead screen seems to come alive with a white flickering line over it.

What could be the issue here?

Hello @m1r_1

Sorry to hear that you are having problems ... I would like to help you.

This is an unfixable error in the screen matrix.

(1) Do you have valid HP warranty

Standard HP warranty should do, check status:

HP support

If status (date) is wrong:

HP PCs, printers - Dispute a warranty status

(2) Double check with external monitor connected via vga/hdmi cable.

Do you have the same error pattern on external monitor ?

- Power off external monitor

- Connect vga/hdmi cable

- Power on external monitor

- Power on notebook

(3Please report back

I connected an external monitor which seems to work fine. However, the dead screen on my laptop screen keeps getting worse. Could you please give more technical detail of this failure.

Also, the failure persists even at BIOS.

Thanks.

Hello @m1r_1

(1) Get a new replacement screen for little money:

HP OMEN 15-EK0015TX Replacement LCD Screen

(2) Replace screen

--->>> Maintenance and Service Guide

From page 53 Component replacement procedures

Alternative:

Live with the screen glitch

Kind regards
