I own an HP EliteBook 8540w Mobile Workstation - Dual Core (ENERGY STAR) with an Intel® Core™ i7 CPU M 620 @2.67Ghz. The laptop’s OS is WINDOWS 10 Professional.
Several years ago, I replaced the laptop’s 500 GB HD with a 1.8 TB SSD.
I like this laptop since it has a built-in CD/DVD drive and mates very nicely to my HP docking station. The newer HP laptops do not possess the latter features.
The graphics card is an NVIDIA Quadro FX1800M, which I’ve loaded with the latest driver. Nevertheless, the computer keeps “Blue Screening” during operation. I think that could be eliminated if the graphics card were replaced with a newer NVIDIA graphics card. Does anyone know if: 1.) that is possible and if the laptop’s power supply can handle such a replacement in view of the SSD installation I’ve already made; and 2.) will that resolve my “Blue Screening” problem?
