**Subject: Bluetooth Driver Error Code 39 on HP 350 G1 - All Solutions Failed**

Hello HP Community,

I am seeking advanced help for a persistent Bluetooth issue on my HP ProBook 350 G1 laptop. The Bluetooth adapter in Device Manager shows an error: **"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)."**

I have spent a significant amount of time troubleshooting this and have exhausted all standard and many advanced solutions.

**System Details:**
* **Product Name:** HP ProBook 350 G1 Notebook PC
* **Operating System:** Windows 10 (64-bit)

**Here is a complete list of troubleshooting steps I have already performed:**

1. **Driver Reinstallation:**
* Uninstalled the Bluetooth device from Device Manager, making sure to check "Delete the driver software for this device."
* Rebooted the system to allow Windows to reinstall.
* Manually downloaded and installed the latest official Broadcom Bluetooth driver from the HP support page for my model (sp72935).

2. **System File and Services Check:**
* Ran `sfc /scannow` and `DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth`. Both completed without finding major issues.
* Checked `services.msc` to ensure "Bluetooth Support Service" and other related services were set to Automatic and running.

3. **Registry Edits:**
* Navigated to the registry key `HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{e0cbf06c-cd8b-4647-bb8a-263b43f0f974}` and confirmed that there were no `UpperFilters` or `LowerFilters` values to delete.

4. **Hardware Checks:**
* Checked the BIOS/UEFI settings to ensure the onboard Bluetooth module is enabled.
* Used the Windows Hardware and Devices troubleshooter, which did not resolve the issue.

Despite all these efforts, the Code 39 error persists, and the Bluetooth function is completely unusable.

At this point, I suspect the issue is either a critical Windows corruption that standard tools cannot fix, or a complete hardware failure of the internal Bluetooth module.

Could you please provide any further insight? Is there any other possible solution I might have missed, or is it safe to assume this is a hardware failure?

Thank you for your time and any help you can provide.

I have a HP 350 G1.

What model Wi-Fi adapter does your PC come with?

Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter v:5.0.57.1

Unfortunately, there is no fix for the Ralink Bluetooth not working on W10.

There is a W10 driver you can try that is not on the 350 G1's support page, but it is highly unlikely it will get the Bluetooth to work.

Use the driver from the 450 G1.

If your notebook has two Wi-Fi antenna wires connected to the Ralink card, I recommend you upgrade the card.

Yours may have only one wire connected but the second one may be located nearby.

Let me know if your notebook has two antenna wires in the compartment where the Wi-Fi card is located and I will give you the link to the card I put in mine.

Changing out the Wi-Fi card is relatively easy and should take less than 10 minutes for an amateur to perform.

Below is the link to the service manual, which has the Wi-Fi card removal and replacement procedure.

Make sure you disconnect the PC from AC power and remove the battery before opening up the notebook.

Thank you so much for your detailed reply and for the service manual.

I wanted to add an important piece of information. The Ralink Bluetooth was actually working fine on Windows 10 for a while  it sometimes reappears and works perfectly for a short period before it stops working again and disappears from the Device Manager.

Given that it works intermittently, could this indicate that it's a software or driver conflict issue rather than a complete hardware failure? I'm wondering if replacing the card is the only solution, or if there's something else I could try based on this new information.

You're very welcome.

It's definitely as software/driver/Windows 10 problem.

If you were to install W7 or W8.1 on your notebook the Ralink Bluetooth would work just fine with the W7 or W8.1 drivers.

You can always use a USB Bluetooth adapter if you want, but if your notebook has two antenna wires, upgrading the card is easy, IMHO, and you can install a modern dual band Wi-Fi 6 Intel AX210 with Bluetooth 5.2.

This is the card I installed in mine.
