Body Replacement

Hey, I am new here so not sure if this is the right place to post it but yeah.

My current laptop (HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-j002ea) works perfectly but the hinges are broken, as a result, i cannot close my laptop. I am basically looking for a replacement body. I am not sure where i could find it.  I tried to contact HP via Facebook but they redirected me here. Anyhow, the warrenty has expired.

Its a train wreck. You need a lower case and screen hinges maybe a top cover and maybe a rear screen housing. The laptop is old enough that the best way to get body parts like that is to find a parts unit on eBay with maybe a bad motherboard or cracked screen but otherwise physically sound. Post back if you want some help.

The hinges alone aren't going to fix this thing. The hinges are cheap but the big body panels are not if purchased through parts supply channels.

This isnt really a big thing as it doesnt impact or affect the laptop. Its just the hinges that are messed up, i used some epoxy glue to hold it in place. If i find replacement hinges, it might work. Everything in the laptop is working 100% but it just doesnt close. The screen is perfect too, just the hinges.

You have likely never done this. When you open it you will see the hinges have caused more damage. As I said happy to help but I am not going to try and tell you its an easy fix
