Hi @WhiteBoy1984

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand the situation. The message “Boot Device Not Found – Please install an operating system on your hard disk” indicates that the computer is not detecting a valid operating system.

To resolve this, you will need to reinstall Windows/. Below is a structured guide that walks you through the process.

Prepare a Windows Installation USB

You need a bootable USB drive with Windows to reinstall the operating system.

On another working computer, download the Windows Media Creation Tool from Microsoft.

Insert a USB drive (minimum 8 GB).

Run the tool and select Create installation media (USB flash drive).

Follow the prompts to complete creation of the bootable USB.

Insert USB and Access Boot Menu

Start your HP laptop from the USB drive to begin installation.

Insert the prepared USB drive into the laptop.

Power on the laptop and immediately press Esc repeatedly.

In the Startup Menu, press F9 to open Boot Device Options.

Select the USB drive from the list.

Install Windows

Follow the on-screen instructions to install the operating system.

Choose your language and region when prompted.

Select Install Now.

Enter your Windows product key if required.

Choose Custom: Install Windows only (advanced).

Select the hard disk, delete old partitions if necessary, and install Windows.

Complete Setup and Install Drivers

After installation, finalize setup and ensure drivers are updated.

Follow the on-screen steps to set up your account and preferences.

Once Windows loads, open the HP App.

Run Diagnose & Fix to check system health.

Install all pending drivers and BIOS updates through the HP App.

This process reinstalls Windows and ensures your HP laptop is ready to use again. Once the operating system is installed, the HP App will help keep your drivers and BIOS up to date for smooth performance.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
