Boot Device not found

Hi,

“Boot Device Not Found” usually means the laptop cannot find a bootable operating system, or the internal SSD is not being detected correctly.

Please try these steps:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Turn it on and immediately tap F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
  3. Press F9 to load BIOS Setup Defaults.
  4. Press F10 to save and exit.

Next, run HP Hardware Diagnostics:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Turn it on and immediately tap Esc repeatedly.
  3. Press F2 for HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  4. Run the Storage / SSD test.

If the SSD test fails or the SSD is not detected, the issue is likely the internal SSD or system board/storage connection, and the laptop should be serviced by HP.

If the SSD passes the test, then Windows or the bootloader may be corrupted. In that case, use HP Cloud Recovery or reinstall Windows using Microsoft installation media.

Important: if there are files on the laptop that you need, do not reinstall Windows or reset the drive before trying to back up the data.

Since this is an HP Envy x360 14-fa-0000, if the laptop is still under warranty and the SSD is not detected or fails diagnostics, I would contact HP Support rather than opening the laptop.
