Hello Forumites,
Here's my machine's info before I throw you the questions:
Product Number : X7V64UA
Description : HP OMEN LAPTOP - 15-AX010CA
RoHS Status : Not Assigned
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
RAM: 16GB
Here are the questions that I really need your help on:
1. REPLACING BOTTOM CASE
I dropped my HP Omen 15 and the bottom case where the power plug connect to the laptop is busted. I want to replace the bottom case to secure the power connection. Not sure the spare part number, even when searched on Partsurfer.hp.com. Can someone give me the EXACT name part and its number?
I found 3 but not sure which one is needed:
858072-001 base enclosure jkb w/o odd
857281-001 base enclosure, non-odd
858965-001 base enclosure, sdm
2. UPGRADING RAM, ADDING SSD, & MIGRATING WINDOWS OS
I frequently edit huge MS Word documents (docx). Documents that could run up to thousands of pages. Text replacement is a painfully slow process. I'm thinking whether I can make my life easier by upgrading my RAM to 32GB, adding a 512GB SSD card, and migrating my Windows 10 to the SSD card.
Can all be done? And would they help speed up my editing process?
Thank you.

1. Please check the following list (specialized for tour machine):
http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=X7V64UA
BASE ENCLOSURE, NON-ODD is the right one.
2. RAM: It does not support over 16GB of RAM. Some users said they can upgrade to 32GB but I did not see it outside the book.
Adding 512GB SSD: add to where ? You need to find where to add since your machine is a Single hard drive configuration machine.

Thanks banhien for your prompt reply. And thanks for providing me with the RIGHT SPARE PART.

With the spare part out of the way, I'll move on to the SSD installation/replacement part.
I've yet open up the case. I assume there's a slot for SSD. Is it not?
But if not, is it possible to swap current HDD for new SSD? And still be able to migrate the OS instead of doing a clean installation?
If doing a clean installation, where would I get the key for Windows 10? Windows 10 came bundled with this machine.
