Hi,
I've owned my 17.3" intel pentium, 8GB touchscreen laptop in rose gold for a little over a year now. I actually did not remove my laptop out of the box and use it until December of 2019. I've been very happy with my laptop and it has made analyzing my data from my laboratory program a lot easier. I've always taken great care with the laptop and it has never been dropped or experienced any accidents. Despite this, I've had a recent issue with the bottom rose gold frame separating from the body of the laptop. The opening is occurring at the right side corner, nearest to the laptop screen. From what I have found online and on this forum, it appears to be a hinge issue and has been reported in other models like the HP Envy. Although my laptop is out of warranty, I feel like I should not have to incur the costs of fixing the laptop since it appears to be a known design flaw. I should not have to pay for a repair, which I did not cause, and one that could cost up to half the value of the laptop. I am wondering who I should contact about this and if there is an email address of a representative I can directly write to. I really love my HP laptop and HP products, and I hope to continue to support HP and recommend them to my family, friends, and co-workers.

Thanks for your reply. I have been working with someone from HP report that you helped connect me with. This person said HP would cover the cost of repair as a one time courtesy. However, I have heard nothing from them as of October 27th. I am hoping to find out if a repair form needs to be filled out and where I should drop my laptop off for repair within the Twin cities metro area in Minnesota. I really depend upon my laptop for my work in scientific research and am concerned that I will not have my laptop repaired.
