Hello.
The Ctrl, Win, Alt, Alt right and Ctrl right keys are not working. A week ago, I spilled a glass of water on the keyboard resulting in random keys working/not working and flickering. Then after some tests, I bought and installed a replacement keyboard. Now all keys are working save the ones mentioned above. My conclusion would be that something on the motherboard or the keyboard ribbon connection is physically damaged.
However, when I do the HP component test from the boot menu (UEFI), all keys get a "green" (Also, it detects the keyboard as Italian while it's in fact German.)
- when I get all green keys, does that mean the keyboard works and it's a software issue?
- Does the boot test think the keyboard is Italian since it's refurbished?
Thanks in advance

There is no coincidence that the issue began after you spilled water on your laptop.
There is a direct correlation between the keyboard problem and water spilled on it.
Consider yourself lucky that the laptop still works, even partially as you describe.
There is some other hardware in the laptop that is damaged.
Does a USB keyboard work without any keys not responding?

Yes, the keyboard problems started with the spill and luckily the laptop as such still works. I've ordered an external keyboard which should be here tomorrow. It's quite possible that e.g. the connector for the internal keyboard is simply broken. Thanks for the reply!

That means that the liquid managed to get inside and damage the system board.
Unfortunately, this means that the laptop is now a brick that lights up.
It is time for you to source a replacement laptop.
You can remove the hard disk/ssd to recover the data and use it with your replacement laptop.

Great!
You are an incredibly lucky person.
I bet you will be careful with liquids and your laptop in the future.

I will! However, I am wondering if this time I got actually breached. When the problem first started, the only malfunction was a very high speed Win-key flickering and then a typing of infinite copies of the letter "s". So maybe someone wanted to communicate I was behaving just like the "SS"?. In these times, everyone is on edge. Then again, on the num pad everything worked but the number 8 didnt. Also, it could all be just a phantasy. Anyway, case closed, thanks again!
