Hi everyone
I have a new HP Laptop 14s, Windows 10 (64bit) , with an inbuilt SD slot, that won't work when I slot an SD Card in
Now I mean , I have been through the internet and spoke to these , so called HP "Experts", that apparently
know how to fix it , and weirdly NOTHING worked
The device does not show in device manager , so asking me to uninstall or re-install drivers , simply doesn't work , as it doesn't show up...AT ALL! ( yes I know it can show as something different blablabla, I have gone through it ALL)
Going to the HP website and downloading the suggested drivers of their website , as you guess, did NOT work .
Even after restarting, re-doing it ....nothing
Then these "experts" said I should look up in my BIOS , if it's activated ( first and foremost dear Experts, don't expect everyone to know exactly how to do it. I am not teaching you a double back tuck and just say " just jump and turn " ...why ? because it won't work, because you would have NO idea what to do. You being the expert , doesn't make me the expert ..... . so maybe, JUST maybe, a step by step would be always a great idea with your " explanations" )
Now after scrambling around , BIOS didn't do the trick either
Oh have I tried the SD card itself with another reader ?? .........No. I always start with the least obvious ( in this case I was checking if my sink has effective plumbing , first . and weirdly , it had nothing to do with my laptop ) ...SO YES I DID!
Does the light flash when an SD Card is slotted in ( if not it's not active) ...again Captain Obvious at work : YES! yes it is flashing !
There were other options that I tried, again ...the HP "Experts" told me they would know a fix .
so last time here : ANYONE that ACTUALLY knows what they are talking about, might have a fix ?
