Hey there so I just bought the Spectre x360 13 inch, and started installing some programs (Office 365, photoshop, discord etc) and the machine blasted its fans and got incredibly hot to the touch at the top of the keyboard, not doing anything else besides running their installs. Is this "normal" for ultrabooks or the x360, or am I experiencing a manufacturing dud, I'm really hoping its the latter with how insane the price point on this thing is.
Any and help would be greatly appreciated!
EDIT: In case it's at all relevant, it has a i7-1165G7, 16 gigs ram, 1TB, and a UHD UWVA OLED display. Everything is stock, I literally bought it last night and all I did was install those programs.

Hi@MattMGK, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Apologize for the issue with the overheating. We understand it's a new notebook lets try a few troubleshooting steps to fix the issue
Request you the following list describes some causes of excessive heat
- Dust inside the laptop.
- A new component, such as a hard drive, is added. The extra component causes the power supply to work harder and generate more heat. Extra heat also radiates off the new component and adds to the temperature inside the case.
- Over time, some cooling fans might slow down and wear out, as the laptop is getting hot, depending on the usage of the laptop.
- High ambient room temperature.
Step 1: Removing dust and lint by cleaning vents
Step 2: Ensuring proper space for ventilation
Step 3: Updating the BIOS ( Make sure Power adaptor connected to notebook )
Step 4: Update the Windows
Step 5:Update Drivers from HP Support Assistance
Step 6: Check for the windows update
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

It's brand new from the store, If you're saying that the machines come with dust in then out of the box that's a little concerning, otherwise there's literally no way there is a dust build. I have updated the BIOS, windows, and all drivers (that's the first thing I did and when the machine first got incredibly hot to touch), and have not installed any new hardware into it. The fans are fine (I know that because they are incredibly loud) and it's winter and my house is freezing so room temperature is not a issue.
All of these steps would be great advice for someone with an older machine, or secondhand one, but as I stated in my OP it is brand new from the shop.
